Lines

We use braid and a 3-4m mono leader at the end. I prefer to use 30lb braid and 50lb mono leader.

Since we're trolling with at least two rods in the water and on a kayak, you want some control of how you set it up. I want one rod 35m behind me and the other 45m. For that reason multi-coloured line is ideal. I put little stickers on my rods as to what the starting colour is and the colour for each 10m of line. This helps both when letting them out and when drilling the fish as you can see how far you have to go.

I use 50-100m multi-coloured braid at the top, some normal braid underneath, and mono at the bottom to smooth it out.
