Seved
My uncle-in-law, Seved, was a huge influence on me. He had a beautiful boat called Malva that he used to take me fishing on. We'd catch Atlantic cod and bring them home to my aunt Gigi, who would cook up the most amazing meals for everyone.
Their lifestyle inspired me to pursue what I, to some degree, live today. I miss them both dearly.
From our last trip together (not on Malva)
Malva (I stole this pic from my cousin, hope he doesn't mind! Gonna find a better one)
Gigi and Seved had the most beautiful home perched on a cliff in Svanesund on Orust, with sweeping views overlooking the archipelago. From their yard, long stairs led down to the water. Along the way, you'd be greeted by the most amazing smells—forest pine mixed with blossoms from the cherry farm on the neighboring lot.
Every morning I'd wake up early and skip down those stairs, waiting eagerly for Seved to take me out on the water. I probably pestered him with too many questions and got him up far earlier than he wanted, but he never showed any signs of frustration.
He was a wonderful man.
